Dear Friends,
It seems to me that the Christian church exists for two purposes: the nurture and support of its
members; and the announcement of the Good News of God's love to the world.
Nurturing membership requires a congregation to create an atmosphere of concern in which
people can discover opportunities for spiritual growth and supportive personal relationships.
Proclaiming the gospel also takes many forms. From inviting unchurched friends and neighbors to
hear God's word, to providing relief for victims of disaster, famine and war at home and abroad,
congregational members join together to make certain that God's Word remains alive and vital in
God's world.
Needless to say, there are numerous tasks which must be accomplished in order to assure that a
congregation will fulfill its calling. This section of our home page is one way of making known the
variety of ways we work together to fulfill our calling as "the body of Christ" in this place.
Our hope is that you will feel sufficiently welcomed into this congregational family that you will
find your own special place as together we strive to be faithful to God's call to mission.
In Christ,
Pastor Linda
