The Seven-fold Flame is another common representation of the Holy Spirit. The symbolism is found in the Biblical description of the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4). We are told that there appeared tongues as of fire and they were filled with the Holy Spirit. The seven flames signify the seven gifts of the Spirit.
