Steward of the Month - May 2007

Tim Hoh

Tim Hoh has been a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church for more than 25 years, and has been everything from Council President during a vacancy to Chair of Property to an Advisor of the Youth Group to a Sunday School teacher. Currently, Tim serves as a lector and is Chair of the Natural Church Development Team, a newly established Team at St. Mark.

Tim comes from a Lutheran background and a long line of Lutheran pastors. When he first came to St. Mark, he joined the chancel choir and made lifelong friends there. His greatest joy is singing hymns on Sunday morning, and if you attend 8:15 service, you will see and hear his joy.

Tim will be the first to climb a ladder or bring in his power tools when the need arises; he is involved with hanging of the greens and a highlight of his Christmas experience is caroling to our homebound members. Always seen with a cup of coffee in his hand, fellowship hour between services is very meaningful for him.

Outside of St. Mark, Tim has been treasurer of the Mercer Mission Cluster for the last several years. More recently he serves on the Board of Cross Roads Outdoor Ministries, a place very close to his heart.

Tim works for FedEx Express and sees to it that the WELCA health kits for Lutheran World Relief are shipped annually to the distribution center in Windsor, Maryland. Married to Mary for 28+ years, he is the proud father of Tim, Jr. and Emily.

When asked why St. Mark is so special to him, he says he's always had a church family and it's a part of who he is.
