This month's Steward is Lisa Fritzinger. Lisa and her husband, Karl, joined St.
Mark 20 years ago (where does the time go!!). Lisa has been involved in many different
ways over those 20 years. She served on Church Council for two terms (six years). While
on Council, she was chairperson of the Evangelism Team. Lisa also served on the Worship &
Music Team, was a Sunday School Teacher, and helped out with Vacation Bible School (she says
many many years ago!).
Today, besides keeping busy with her husband and two daughters, Elise - 17 and Emma - 14, Lisa
is very involved with our music ministry. She enjoys ringing in the bell choir and participates
with "special music" by playing her clarinet. Lisa continues to serve on the Evangelism Team,
and over the past few years has opened her home to the St. Mark Youth Group annual pool parties
(this year passing the torch to the Clair Family).
Lisa was one of our Hurricane Katrina Relief volunteers traveling this summer to Slidell,
Mississippi, where she spent a week helping with the relief effort. Although the trip started
with some anxiety, Lisa along with her daughter, Elise, and Eileen Mansfield and Eric Earl found
their time in Mississippi to be very meaningful. We can hear more about the servant trip on Monday
evening, November 6 in the Fellowship Hall.
Lisa's "day job" is working with the Mercer County Planner Department where she is involved
with open space issues and land preservation.
When asked what motivates her to be an involved member and why St. Mark's is so special to her,
Lisa responded with "I enjoy being active in the church. Ringing bells is so enjoyable and I
get so much joy out of music and working together with the other members of the church. I was
raised in the Lutheran Church and it is important to me to pass on these values to my family and
to be a witness to my faith as my parents were to me."
